We’re thrilled to announce that Kalparrin is now registered with WA’s new container deposit scheme – Containers for Change!
More than 1.3 billion drink containers are consumed in WA every year. Eligible containers don’t have to go to waste; they can be recycled with Containers for Change.
The scheme pays cash for exchanged eligible containers (10 cents per container), but you can ‘donate’ the refund to Kalparrin instead? Not only will you be helping to preserve the environment for the next generation, but it’s also a great way to support WA families who are raising children with disability and additional needs.
How to support Kalparrin though the scheme
TIP: Eligible containers are generally those drinks that you tend to consume outside of the house rather than those that you might find in your fridge at home! See below for what’s included.
1. Collect eligible containers, make sure they have been rinsed and the lids removed
2. Return your eligible containers to a Refund Point; find your local Refund Point, here
3. Quote Kalparrin’s Containers for Change Scheme ID: C10357250 at your local Refund Point to donate your refund – the funds will be transferred directly to Kalparrin
4. Don’t forget to keep the lids from all your eligible containers as they can be returned too, but they must be removed from the container and placed in one of the dedicated bins at your local Refund Point.
How to tell if a container is eligible
a) The 10c refund mark is displayed on the container, or
b) Its barcode is entered and checked via the container checker, here.
