The Margaret Cole Carer’s Award

Applications are called for the above award which is to be given annually in memory of all mothers, and to celebrate the indomitable spirit of carers. The aim of the award is to help a primary carer of a child with special needs towards achieving a goal by assisting the carer to step outside the caring role and develop their skills and talents.

The award is available to a carer as a once only seeding grant to help launch a personal project such as but not restricted to launching a TAFE course, university books, contribution to university fees, setting up a small business or another goal you may have.

Conditions

You are the primary carer of a child with special needs
You are a member of The Kalparrin Centre
Your family is struggling financially
You have proof of a business plan eg. through a submission with the NEIS Program (if considering starting a small business)
You submit a report at the end of the year detailing how the money was utilised

Send a 1-2 page letter (email or hard copy) outlining your goals and personal details to The Kalparrin Centre by close of business on 3rd October 2008
