Kalparrin Awards
Margaret Cole Award
This award is made available through the generous support of Margaret Cole. Awarded annually, the award of $1,000 is made to help a primary carer of a child with special needs achieve a personal goal by assisting them to step outside the caring role and develop their skills and talents. The award is available as a once only seeding grant to help launch a personal project such as, but not restricted to, launching a TAFE course, paying for university fees or books, or setting up a small business.
The applicant must:
- Be the primary carer of a child with special needs
- Be a member of Kalparrin
- Be struggling financially
- Have evidence of a business plan (e.g., through a submission to the New Enterprise Incentive Scheme NEIS [link to www.absnetwork.com.au/neis]
- Submit a report at the end of the year detailing how the award was spent.
How to apply:
Send a 1-2 page letter (email or hard copy) outlining your goals and personal details to Kalparrin.
Submission Date: 30 November each year.
Kalparrin Service Awards
These awards are made to Kalparrin members based on the following criteria:
- A contribution to Kalparrin over a period of at least five years (need not be continuous)
- Extent of the individual's contribution
- Contributing despite adversity or hardship
- Contributing in a voluntary capacity.
Nominations are called for annually and awarded at the Annual General Meeting each year.
